Hum! What do you mean "People should be rejoicing"? Are you kidding me! To the contrary, if we let ourselves be bought by those petroleum magnates, our problems are definitely not over. Why do you think they invest so much money, of all places in well known universities throughout the world - if not to promote their ideologies to the young generation presently attending them. As much as I would like to believe that their objective is mainly to promote "peaceful talks" about differences, I haven't become that gullible yet. I wonder if their thoughts are as open as ours when it comes to inter-faith/cross-cultural dialogue...If we keep on sheepishly accepting them as our friends, we'll soon become dependent and under their heavy yoke.

If terrorists are giving such large monies to promote learning in free and accountable Western institutions, they'll severely undermine their ability to promote terrorism and allow western institutions to finally mould ideas around Islam. How much more inter-faith/cross-cultural goodwill can you ask for, if monies destined for bombs are being given to Professors in western establishments? People should be rejoicing.
