What do we do with Ron Paul? Some of what he says really resonates with me.

My main concern about Ron Paul is that he would just yank us out of Iraq. Regardless of whether or not we should be there, I seriously question the wisdom of that. All of us have to contend with the decisions those that have gone before have made, and even if we disagree with them, it would be smart to seriously consider the long-term credibility of the United States. Starting a war and then changing our minds is not good policy.
Your thoughts?
With Paul, I think that he’s got some good ideas, but he puts (his interpretation of) the Constitution ahead of the Bible. That is an important point for those of us who look at our politics and our faith.
I do think that he’s a bit single-minded about Iraq, which is irresponsible and denies the past four years of history. I think we shouldn’t have gone … but we did. We can’t just leave now.
His policies would also allow drug legalization, alternative marriages, and a number of other things that Christians have consistently opposed. I think he’s an interesting guy, but that he will ultimately fade, and as a Christian I’m okay with that.
