From HSLDA.org:
…the Smiths declined the assessments, and relied on HSLDA to take care of the rest.
Klicka sent the social worker a letter outlining all the ways in which she had broken the law:
1. By entering the home and interviewing the children through intimidation;
2. By not letting them know the allegations at the initial visit; and
3. By interviewing children whom the allegations did not concern.
Glad to read about the turn of events in this matter. I am not surprised with this tough.
A few years back, as our children attended a private Christian school, they too were visited by one social worker who was working on a lead from an unknown source that our children were not treated right. When I got to school that morning (I worked as a French Specialist), one of my kids rushed to me saying that someone had interviewed them. The supervisor ordered our child to get back to his place immediately and that this was none of my business to know until further notice. This was the beginning of a nightmare that was going to last for more than a year and a half.
Our daughter especially was totally traumatised by this and did not want to attend that school again. It ended up that those accusations were unfounded, even our family doctor practically laughed at my face when I visited because our daughter had to be medically examined.
To this day, I cannot understand why social services take care of cases like that when there are so many real cases of abuse (I see quite a bit in the school sytem that I work in) that are left in the balance because no one will report them. You can be sure that my thoughts on the present system are not very affectionate still. They have to be careful when contacted that the family they will visit is not the victim of revenge or the likes.
By the way, our kids were put back into the public system (3 1/2 years ago) and have never been treated so well.
