The Bank Problem

The Bank Problem has a great quote from Thomas Jefferson up as it’s “quote of the day.”

“I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.” Thomas Jefferson (1802)

I am assuming that the quote will change tomorrow so here is a permanent link to a site that has that quote on it:

  1. Here are a couple by Andrew Jackson:

“Unless you become more watchful in your states and check the spirit of monopoly and thirst for exclusive privileges you will in the end find that… the control over your dearest interests has passed into the hands of these corporations.”

“I have always been afraid of banks.”
