Ron Paul on Racism

Ron Paul on Racism

I like this quotation from Ron Paul. He is basically saying that liberty and respect for the individual are the answer to racism, not big statist government schemes.

Here is the source of the quotation:

Rage Without Knowledge – The Trayvon Martin Shooting

It’s always amazing to see people marching in the streets with confidence for a cause when they do not have all of the facts yet.

The world has come unglued over the awful death of Trayvon Martin via the gun of George Zimmerman.

And it seems that the world already knows that Zimmerman is a racist murderer.

Well, I don’t know. I won’t be marching for Zimmerman’s arrest.

It will be a real tragedy of Zimmerman is arrested, tried, or convicted because of marches in the streets, instead of because of evidence.

Attorney Craig Sonner said the public is only hearing part of the story, and when all the facts come out, it will be clear that Zimmerman acted in self defense. A grand jury is scheduled to begin hearing the case April 10.

Sonner insisted that Zimmerman is not a racist, pointing out that he and his wife mentored for two black children for free.

“When I asked this mother [of the mentees], who trusted [Zimmerman and his wife], and she’s an African-American, if she trusted George Zimmerman, she said she did, and I asked her if there was anything that caused her to believe that she was a racist, and she said, ‘Absolutely not.’ And I said, went further, ‘Did you ever hear him use racial slurs in any time that you’d been around him?’ And she said, ‘no’ as well,” Sonner said.  [Read More]

Is anybody else out there as sick and tired as I am of lynch mob racists like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton (vide: Tawana Brawley, the Duke Lacrosse kids) who don the mantel of the “civil rights” movement to indict non-blacks in advance of the facts, and incite racial rage against them? Yet that is exactly what they – and scores of black leaders — are doing to an Hispanic individual named George Zimmerman. Along with a cast of thousands, they are holding him guilty of racism before the fact, justifying a hatred, as inflammatory as the hatred once spewed by southern crackers against blacks.  [Read More]
