I just read an article by Alan Keyes about Mitt Romney and Same-Sex Marriage. What do you think?
“Mitt Romney is single-handedly responsible for instituting same-sex marriage in Massachusetts.” That’s the view of Republican presidential candidate Alan Keyes, who lobbied against the state’s adoption of same-sex marriage when it was imminent in 2004.
I personally think that to say he is “single handedly” responsible might tend to mislead (although I don’t think that is Alan’s motive here). I don’t think Alan Keyes is saying that Romney is the sole cause, but that a mis-understanding of his role as governor led to him enforcing something that he should not have enforced and did not have to enforce. It is an interesting article.
I don’t think people realize how liberal he was when he governed. Right now all people have to trust Romney on is rhetoric because he has no record to back it up.
He says he is against gay marriage, ok fair enough, but he has said during this campaign that is is favor of gay rights. And pundits think he’s the best conservative?
